Stolas's neck floofs with his furious scowl, in a ripple that makes his crown feathers tremble as well.
"I don't think I could get rid of you if I tried, with the way you're constantly stalking me around the ship, pretending to clean while you hover like a fucking mother hen!" He straightens and gestures sharply in a back-handed motion. "And if this deal was such a fucking hardship for you, there are plenty of other ways for you to travel back and forth from Earth. Striker fucking killed me, after all, you wouldn't even have had to do any work, just take my grimoire from my corpse and be done with the whole affair!!"
His expression twists into a sardonic smile. "Oh, but of course, you weren't fucking there, were you? You sent your little employees to rescue me instead, well - look at how that went!"
"Oh please!" Blitzø snarls back, the spines on his back bristling. "I've seen you recover from that, I fucking know you're going to graduate and be fine and go right back to whatever the fuck you royals do when you're not slumming it getting railed by the peasants!
"And anyway," he continues, because Blitzø is on a fucking roll now and he can't think of anything better to do than air everything he's been holding onto since this mess started, right here at the top of his lungs in the hallway.
"How the fuck was I supposed to know you were actually in fucking danger anyway? You're the one always coming up with bullshit reasons you need me to save or protect you when we both know you're more powerful than I could ever hope to be!"
His voice shifts, openly mocking Stolas now as he pulls a face and waves his hands in spiteful mimicry. "'Oh Blitzy~ please come protect me from being kidnapped by these teeny tiny scary imps~! Because I can't possibly manage to take care of myself and you don't have anything better to do~!' I thought it was just more of the same fucking shit!"
A mortified blush creeps up Stolas's face at the mockery of it all, that his genuine terror was being so readily dismissed, so thoroughly slapping him in the face.
"Because he took the fucking phone, Blitz, he told you he was going to kill me!! I'm not like you-" with another sharp gesticulation like he can slap the accusations out of the air. "I don't go sleeping around, I literally can't in my position, it wasn't a fucking game!!"
"You don't go sleeping around?" Blitzø wasn't about to argue that he didn't; he was almost proud of his record, so long as he didn't look too closely at the way much of it had ended. "Then what the fuck do you call this, asshole? Aren't you fucking married with a kid? Sure seems like you're fucking sleeping around just fiiiiine when it comes to making deals to get what you want."
There's a part of him that's starting to realise this is probably going too far even for him, but it's drowned out in the need to lash out now and push everything away, get the hurt over with now.
"And you're the one who said you understood that I had to be with my fucking daughter when you decided to get your ass kidnapped! And now you're shitty about the fact that I didn't come rushing to your rescue like the first time?!"
Oh. Oh fuck. He's fucked up a lot but that one he'd forgotten about and Blitzø looks vaguely guilty for a moment.
"I mean, he was going to try something at that harvest moon bullshit but we stopped that. He was a pushover anyway, wasn't like it was a big deal or anything."
Well now he's not even sure what face he's making, but he's looking away from Blitz with a dangerously blank expression, only the tiniest fold of an eyebrow giving away the tumultuous emotions beneath.
"You knew there was an assassin after me and you- y-you didn't even think to tell me?"
"He wasn't after you any more! We kicked his ass, Moxxie took his gun... it wasn't a problem!" He's backpedalling hard now, he knows it, and he wished he'd kept his mouth shut on the Striker situation.
"I didn't think it was a big fucking deal, you're a prince, nothing can hurt you!"
His eyes widen for a moment as he turns and stares at Blitz - and even as he does there's flickers of black and red across his feathers, glossing that sickly demonic black as his whole form swells like he's fluffing up into the shadow of that behemoth demon self.
And then he remembers himself, that this argument is happening in a fucking hallway, and all at once he shrinks back down with a sharp swish of his cape, and the distress is still extremely obvious but he's got his game face back on, even if his voice cracks.
"I cannot do this right now, Blitz, just- go, leave me alone!"
There's a flicker of raw power there, harmonics in the sound of Stolas' voice that hurt and put him on edge, waiting for the power to lash out at him... then it's gone just as quickly and he's bizarrely aware that he's not the hurt one here. He doesn't know what to do, and as Stolas snaps at him, Blitzø hesitates for just a moment before he turns on his heel and bolts down the hallway and away.
