Other Characters Currently In-Game:
Character Name: Prince Stolas
Series: Helluva Boss
Age: 36 apparently
From When?: S2E4, Western Energy
Inmate Justification: This bird is so deeply depressed, lonely and affection-starved that he handed over an immensely powerful magical grimoire to his fuckbuddy without hesitation, who uses it to enter the world of the living and kill people for fun and profit. Stolas's obliviousness to the fallout of his selfish actions has a direct kill-count in the dozens, if not hundreds across both the living world and Hell, and may have resulted in humans being able to confirm the existence of demons; not to mention completely tanking his only personal relationships on the side.
Arrival: Against his will! Brought immediately post-surgery, AUing that he died from the wounds he received.
Abilities/Powers: So fucking many. Stolas is a Goetian demon (as in, depicted in the Ars Goetia), and as such he is one of the most powerful tiers of demons in Hell, only below the Seven Deadly Sins and Lucifer Morningstar (and his daughter Charlie Morningstar).
Shown powers include:
Grimoire: His spell book and encyclopaedia of demonic rituals and items. Possession of it allows the holder to cast spells of practically limitless practicality, but his specific specialties are astronomy, prophecy and knowledge of herbs, plants and gemstones. (Would need to be requested from a warden; the book itself is non-magical, and Stolas wouldn't be able to cast spells from it until his own ability is restored)
Astronomy/Prophecy: Tied together as they're his primary reasons for existing. His role in life is to study astronomy and prophecy; he's shown little in the way of prophetic abilities, however, implying it's either an activated power or simply knowledge, but he's an open expert on astronomy and astrology.
Magic: Stolas's primary power, he is a quite powerful magic user, especially as a royal member of the Ars Goetia. While he does have some spells memorised, notably the ones listed independently below, all other magic will be nerfed.
Telekinesis: The ability to move items, apparently of any size and up to any speed. Has also been used to cross-dimensionally puppeteer dead bodies to draw a summoning circle. (Nerfed; can't carry anything larger than his grimoire and no harder than a light toss)
Portals: Can portal to anywhere in space as long as he can specify in some way the location he wants. (Nerfed, and the ability to portal outside of the Barge or into non-filtered rooms completely verboten)
Goetic symbol: His personal Goetic symbol can be used to summon him, by either creating it himself or by other people using it against his will. (Full access: him using it himself is pointless, and summoning him is hilarious; wouldn't be able to be summoned to inmate-inaccessible areas)
Petrification: Can turn people to stone by glaring at them. (Nerfed)
Altering Forms: Has the innate ability to turn into a massive demon, and the magical ability to put on a human guise. (Demon form completely nerfed, but retains the ability to cast his completely harmless human guise.)
Projection(?): Has the ability to superimpose his presence on the living world, as seen with footsteps, the use of magical abilities like telekinesis despite his presence in Hell, and possessing people. (All nerfed)
Other fun skills include:
Demon anatomy: Stolas is a hardy individual, able to take multiple stab wounds that may have killed lesser Hellborn, and is immune to mundane fire. However he is incredibly vulnerable to celestial/holy weaponry. He also has black blood!
Owl anatomy: Aside from being a demon, he has the baseline anatomical arrangements of an owl. But like, a demonic owl dude.
Gardening: Loves it, good at it, secondary demonic purpose as a purveyor of herbs, plants and precious stones.
The Arts: He sings! He draws!
Inmate Information: Stolas is a closed book. From the moment he came of age at ten years old, he has been living for other people's expectations, and putting up with rampant neglect from his father Paimon and a constant barrage of abuse from his arranged-marriage wife Stella. This only intensified, rather than eased off, when their daughter (and precautionary heir to his throne) was born, as his gave up all pretence of caring about him, but Stolas stayed silent for another seventeen years as his daughter grew up, to try and give her a normal life.
Then his childhood best friend broke into his room, they slept together and the next morning Blitzø literally crashed into his wife's teaparty and announces his departure with "Sorry I fucked your husband", at which point Stolas gleefully divorces her. Which starts its own set of issues.
Stolas's major problem is a complete lack of agency in his own life, that has lead to absolutely crippling self-esteem issues, zero friends or communication with his peers as a support system (and quite possibly being actively isolated due to Stella's constant insulting him), and no coping mechanisms or healthy outlets. Literally his first and only friend was Blitzø, who was hired by Paimon to be his friend, and whose own father was encouraging him to fleece the palace for goods to fence.
The first time Stolas acts in a way that could be read as taking back agency is when Blitzø breaks into his palace twenty-five years later to try and steal his grimoire: Stolas completely misreads the situation, and instead is so desperately, painfully starved for affection that he basically makes himself believe that Blitzø is here to ravish him like a romance novel come to life; the only reason this is correct is because Blitzø takes pity on him and fucks him anyway, and rather than be mad that Blitzø stole his grimoire, Stolas instead makes an arrangement with him later on that Stolas can have his own book back once a month, upon the return of which he and Blitzø will fuck all night as compensation.
Due to this lack of agency, when he does have the ability to do something for himself, Stolas is extremely selfish and short-sighted, and either unaware of or actively ignoring any outside opinions to the contrary. He knows Blitzø has no other means to access the human realm for his job, but doesn't realise that Blitzø sees the sexual component as obligatory, rather than genuinely emotional like Stolas does (and while Blitzø is enthusiastic about the sex, and did in fact initiate, the situation remains an unambiguous power imbalance in Stolas's favour). At the same time, he tends to hyperfocus on Blitzø as his fantasy come to life and still engages in a generally classist/racist (same thing in Hell) mentality towards other imps, even the ones Blitzø works with; but also we see how these selfish acts negatively affect his daughter, in how he turned a day that was ostensibly meant to be about her, as an apology to her for breaking the peace with her mother, entirely into fawning over Blitzø and distracting him from the job as bodyguard Stolas is paying him real money to do. While he can be snapped out of his self-obsessed moments, it's never before distinct harm is done to his relationships.
Path to Redemption: Most of what Stolas needs is confidence and emotional regulation. He's never had someone he can unload his problems onto, and wouldn't have the words in any case, so mostly if he can learn to verbalise things he'll make progress fairly quickly. He needs to learn that his actions have consequences, and learn to see how his blithe passions hurt other people. He treats Blitzo as a fantasy, his knight in shining armour, and while that delusion has recently shattered he still treats literally every other imp, including Blitz's coworkers, as scenery or objects. He needs to learn how his flights of fancy have real emotional impacts for other people, and to learn how to consider that before he gets lost in his excitement over them. He'd do well with a warden who will hold him accountable without being outwardly cruel or condescending about it, as any overt negative emotions will cause him to shut down and withdraw, without necessarily facilitating the required introspection and instead will probably cause him to spiral.
He also needs, and wants, to feel desirable without it being transactional; to feel like he is worth something to people without any expectation in return. Once he learns that wardens are only here to use inmates to make a deal he is going to have a difficult time in two conflicting ways: both in remaining platonic, as he's come to unconsciously expect that when people want something from him, they'll pay him with sex; but simultaneously, quietly loathing his warden until they can convince him they won't just use him, then leave him high and dry. The loss of his magic is going to be quite jarring for him, as a powerful magic user, and it's going to leave him feeling quite vulnerable and likely very immediately falling into bad habits to find ways to protect himself, quite probably even offering himself up as payment for whatever services others can provide him.
To the Barge itself, he won't be particularly bothered; he travels through space on his own all the time, often enough for his own entertainment, and the non-euclidean rooms, while unusual, aren't totally remarkable. He'll be fine with the location, until he's left to realise that any negative CR he builds will become something he can't obliviously hurtle past and rely on his social privilege - or hiding behind other people - to ignore. Actually seeing those consequences, or being subject to them, will force him to confront his own prejudices about how to treat people going forward, even if it takes a little while for some things to truly click.
History: From the wiki!

Special Notes: Any portal powers will of course be nerfed so that he can't access different universes or leave the Barge without warden permission.
